Airtel speed test

See the real speed of your Airtel mobile data: download, upload, ping and jitter, measured in your browser with no app.

–Mbps

  • Download–Mbps
  • Upload–Mbps
  • Ping–ms
  • Jitter–ms

A test uses mobile data: about 10–20 MB on a slow line, 100 MB or more on fast 5G or fibre. Results are measured from your browser to the nearest Cloudflare data centre and change with your device, WiFi, time of day and network load. They are for your information only and are not an official measurement by TRAI or any operator.

How to test Airtel speed properly

Switch off WiFi so the test runs on Airtel mobile data, close apps that are downloading, and press Start. Above the dial you will see the network the test used; it should name Bharti Airtel. Repeat the test a few times and at different hours before you judge the line.

Airtel 4G or 5G Plus?

Airtel's 5G, sold as 5G Plus, runs as non-standalone 5G: the phone keeps a 4G link alongside the 5G one. You need a 5G phone, Airtel 5G coverage where you are, and 5G turned on in settings. The Airtel Thanks app shows whether 5G is available on your phone.

Why Airtel internet can be slow

  • Daily data limit reached. On many prepaid packs the speed falls sharply once the day's high-speed data is used up. Check the balance in the Airtel Thanks app.
  • Crowded tower at peak hours. Evenings are busiest. Test again early morning to compare.
  • Indoor signal. Thick walls weaken 5G and the higher 4G bands; a window or balcony often helps.
  • APN. It is normally set automatically. If data does not connect at all, check that the APN is airtelgprs.com.

Questions people ask

Is this the official Airtel speed test?

No. It is an independent test that works on every network, measuring your line to the nearest Cloudflare data centre.

Why does my result differ from other speed test sites?

Each test measures to a different server and in a different way. Run tests back to back on the same network and compare the pattern, not a single number.

How this test works

Your browser first times eleven tiny requests to the nearest Cloudflare data centre (ping and jitter), then downloads test files over several connections until the speed holds steady, then uploads random data the same way. The first moments, while the connection speeds up, are left out. Nothing you download or upload is kept.
