Data usage calculator
Enter how long you watch, call and listen each day to see how much mobile data you use. Opens with a typical day; change any number.

Estimates only. Real times and data use depend on the server, the app and your network.
How it works
Data used = bitrate × time. A stream at 5 Mbps for one hour uses 5 × 3,600 ÷ 8 = 2,250 MB, about 2.25 GB. The calculator adds up each activity at the bitrate shown next to it and compares the total with your daily pack.
The bitrates are typical figures, not exact: apps change quality with your connection and many apps have a data-saver setting. If you know an app's real bitrate, type it in.
Cutting data use
- Set video apps to a fixed lower quality on mobile data (480p looks fine on a phone).
- Download shows and music on WiFi for later.
- Turn off autoplay and cloud backup on mobile data.
