What is my IP address?

Your public IP address is the address websites see when you visit them. Here is yours, with the network it belongs to.

Estimates only. Real times and data use depend on the server, the app and your network.

What this shows

  • IP address: the public address your connection uses on the internet. On mobile data many people share one address (carrier-grade NAT), so it may not be unique to you.
  • IPv4 or IPv6: Jio, Airtel and many broadband providers in India give IPv6 addresses, which look like 2401:4900:… rather than four numbers.
  • Provider: the network that owns the address.
  • City: an estimate from public IP location data. On mobile it is often a city far from you, because the address belongs to the operator's gateway, not your phone.

Is it safe that websites see my IP?

Every website you visit needs your IP address to send pages back. It shows your provider and a rough area, not your home address or your name. Only your provider can link an IP to a customer, and it shares that only under legal process. We show your IP to you on this page and do not store it.

Questions people ask

Why does my IP change?

Most home and mobile connections get a new address from time to time, for example when the router or phone reconnects. A fixed (static) IP is a paid extra on business plans.

What is my private IP?

Your router gives each device a private address such as 192.168.1.5. It is only used inside your home network and is shown in your phone’s WiFi settings.
