Airtel Xstream Fiber speed test

Test your Airtel Xstream Fiber or Xstream AirFiber connection at home: download, upload, ping and jitter.

–Mbps

  • Download–Mbps
  • Upload–Mbps
  • Ping–ms
  • Jitter–ms

A test uses mobile data: about 10–20 MB on a slow line, 100 MB or more on fast 5G or fibre. Results are measured from your browser to the nearest Cloudflare data centre and change with your device, WiFi, time of day and network load. They are for your information only and are not an official measurement by TRAI or any operator.

How to test Airtel broadband properly

  1. Connect by LAN cable, or stay near the router on its 5 GHz WiFi.
  2. Stop other heavy use in the house for a minute.
  3. Press Start and compare the download with your plan.

Xstream Fiber reaches your home over fibre; Xstream AirFiber reaches it over Airtel's 5G network, so its speed depends on the 5G signal at your window or roof.

When the result is below your plan

  • Test on a cable or close to the router first: if that is fast, the line is fine and WiFi is the limit.
  • Restart the router if it has been on for weeks.
  • If a cable test stays well below the plan at different times, raise it with Airtel with your readings.

Questions people ask

Is this Airtel’s own test?

No. It is an independent test that works on every network.

What ping is good for broadband?

On fibre, a ping under 20 ms to a nearby server is typical. Higher figures are common on AirFiber and mobile.

How this test works

Your browser first times eleven tiny requests to the nearest Cloudflare data centre (ping and jitter), then downloads test files over several connections until the speed holds steady, then uploads random data the same way. The first moments, while the connection speeds up, are left out. Nothing you download or upload is kept.
