How to complain about slow internet in India
Updated: 11 October 2026
- Collect evidence. Run speed tests at different times over a few days, in the same place. Our test keeps your last ten results in this browser; take screenshots too.
- Call or chat with customer care through the provider's app or helpline, describe where and when it is slow, and note the complaint (docket) number.
- Escalate to the appellate authority. Telecom providers in India must have an appellate authority for complaints that are not resolved; its contact details are on the provider's website, usually under "appellate authority" or "nodal officer".
- Consumer help. The National Consumer Helpline (1915, or consumerhelpline.gov.in) can take up the matter with the company.
TRAI's MySpeed app lets you send speed readings to the telecom regulator, which uses them to study network quality across the country.
Keep your messages factual: the dates, places, results and your plan's speed.
